Damon Griffin, Editor

Hi, you've reached my Editing Reel. This page consists of scenes from films I have worked on as an editor in the past two years.  Please contact me at thelightreader@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like a condensed version of this reel (DVD or QT file), with additional scenes.

Note: These are long-form scenes I have cut, i.e, scenes in their entirety. I do also do the basic, condensed reel thing. Watch it right here (no password needed): https://vimeo.com/78393407

As for the extended scenes...

Soft Greed: A film produced at the Maine Media Workshops in the summer of 2012. It's always fun cutting a good film noir.

Four: One of the more experimental films I've edited. Matching the movements of two people passing in front of each other on their hands and knees in a four-shot montage is trickier than it sounds; well, maybe the way I put it does sound kind of tricky.

Tron in 2 Minutes: A scene from Tron produced at The Maine Media Workshops in the summer of 2012. Watch the vastly inferior original scene for comparison at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-_Uy_DIwaY

Sometimes I edit my own films. This is a scene from a film I wrote and directed called The State Encroaches, which premiered at Videology in Brooklyn, New York, in December 2013.

A scene from Now, Forager. Directed by Jason Cortlund and Julia Halperin. The story of two mushroom foragers in a crumbling relationship, this film has been screened at the IFC Center in New York City, among other venues nationwide.

(This is not a film I edited. It's just a picture I took of a seagull.)
